Faith in Speculations is a project initiated by Rangga Purbaya dan Sirin Farid Stevy. It presents an alternative history by collecting oral stories. Their work offers oral stories that incorporate technology, consisting of various multimedia modes such as cartography, graphics, and texts.
This project aims to intervene in the history of terror in Indonesia by rearranging its narratives differently from history taught at schools or diffused on national television and official anniversaries. Shifting between memory and imagination, this project tries to present these narratives to expand the political and historical imaginations that may encourage a national and personal reconciliation process from the shadows and impacts of the 1965 mass killings in Indonesia.
